Rides and Riding
Ffos Farm Riding & Trekking is a small, friendly stables offering horse riding, lessons and pony trekking holidays tailored to your requirement whether you are a total beginner, novice or experienced rider.
When you ride with Ffos Farm Riding & Trekking you will be given individual treatment. We do not take riders out nose to tail on a string of ponies, nor do we have set rides going out each day. Your ride will usually be arranged just for you and your party.
There are a number of riding schools in mid Wales but only with Ffos Farm Riding & Trekking can you ride out into the famously beautiful Irfon Valley to Abergwesyn, trek through the Crychan Forest, swim the horses in the Wash Pool or enjoy a quiet ride by the River Irfon, led by experienced guides who will do their utmost to ensure you have an enjoyable, safe ride.
As well as trekking and hacking out we offer riding lessons in the outdoor riding school for both individuals and groups.
We cater for single people, couples, family groups, children over five years and corporate events and we offer riding for all abilities.
Most of our rides are off road on bridle paths and the old drovers’ roads. Depending upon which ride you take you may see the Brecon Beacons in the distance or Drygarn Fawr, the highest of the Cambrian Mountains, but whichever way you ride you can be sure that the scenery will be second to none. An hour’s ride can take you on a route similar to the pictures above, whereas two hours can take you up into the hills for spectacular views.
According to your riding experience and ability you will be matched to the most suitable horse for you. If you are a total beginner you will probably be taken out with your horse on a lead rein to ensure your safety and enjoyment. More experienced riders can enjoy the rides which are more challenging and, depending on your ability, there are rides where you can enjoy a good gallop!
